Programs at St. Peter's Parish Outreach
Our dedication to the church and the support we provide to our parish
family cannot be measured. Time spent caring for the church and serving
the Lord at the altar is dear to us. Individually, we are active Christians
in our daily lives. Collectively, we do participate in a few outreach
activities with hopes to expand in the future. We contribute in various
ways to Project FEED, an emergency food bank for the greater Portland
area. We share our musical talents with the community by singing Christmas
carols. We configure a Hat and Mitten Tree each Advent made of handmade
items for those in need.
In the future, as a parish family St. Peter’s
would like to commit more time to a community project. Some ideas include
assisting with Habitat
for Humanity,
building churches, or volunteering at a soup kitchen. We are always open to new
ideas.
We are in search of a priest who will acknowledge our time given and support
us in growing towards a community outreach mission.
Once a month, a wonderful gathering takes place. This
is a group of seniors who meet monthly for lunch and fellowship. Please
contact Anita Chandler for more information.
Members of St Peter's graciously give
their time to various Diocesan
Youth Activities, including Middle School events, High School events,
and the annual Believe It Or Not camp at Camp Bishopswood. Come join
us
for loads of fun with weekend youth programs!
